Curepipe,​ a​ residential town of​ colonial houses,​ public gardens,​ and a​ vegetable market,​ is​ located on​ the​ historic site of​ the​ extinct volcano,​ Trou aux Cerfs. Visitors frequent Curepipe for its botanical gardens,​ the​ cooler higher climate,​ and its spectacular views. the​ Casino de Maurice,​ about 20 kilometers from Port-Louis in​ Curepipe,​ is​ a​ lively entertainment spot. the​ Maurice has the​ same gambling hours and table games,​ as​ well as​ ten touch bet roulette machines. at​ the​ north end of​ the​ island,​ a​ fairly new casino,​ Trou-aux-Biches,​ features a​ wide range of​ leisure activities on​ the​ complex such as​ golf,​ deep-sea fishing,​ and scuba diving. There is​ an​ excellent seafood restaurant and wonderful beaches near the​ casino,​ as​ well.

In the​ middle of​ the​ busy waterfront area of​ Port-Louis is​ the​ Le Caudan Waterfront Casino,​ with table games,​ slots,​ and island jackpots. This is​ a​ highly visible gathering spot because of​ its great location,​ organized family activities,​ and an​ abundance of​ fine restaurants and duty free shopping.
